Let's protect the environment and preserve that of our children.
Ecology is very important nowadays, so we must improve the way we consume.End-of-life electrical and electronic products mixed with household waste may lose their recovery potential and endanger the environment as well as public health due to their substances.
It is therefore our duty to sort end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment for proper treatment and recycling.
Selective collection / Appropriate treatment
This regulation encourages the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment in order to send them to appropriate treatment plants for recycling and recovery of their waste.Appropriate treatment will make it possible to isolate the hazardous substances which some equipment may contain and improve recycling.
Financing recycling plants
To ensure the collection, transport, treatment, environmentally sound storage and recovery of this waste, an environmental contribution is included in the price of products considered as electrical or electronic equipment. This contribution corresponds to the cost of recycling the product. It goes entirely to a body that treats the products and waste. The value of the environmental contribution applicable to the products is fixed by the body in charge of recycling. This figure depends mainly on the product category to which the equipment corresponds.
There are also other criteria for assessing the volume of materials to be recycled (weight of the product, capacity of a refrigerator, size of a television screen, etc.).
Private copying rate
The private copying levy was created to compensate the losses caused by private copies of phonograms ("products resulting from the recording of sounds on any medium, created and composed by an author") and services recorded and broadcast by radio and television. Therefore, the law has created a levy that will be charged to manufacturers and importers of blank recording media (sound and audiovisual)
In return for the right to copy, a portion of the purchase price of all digital consumables and multimedia devices (namely, external hard drives, blank CD/DVD-R and RW, flash memories and devices that exploit this type of media, such as USB sticks) will be charged. This levy constitutes remuneration for the holders of copyrights (authors, composers, artists, etc.). Half of this fee is reverted, through specialised and authorised bodies, to the authors, a quarter to the performing artists and a quarter to the production companies.
All products on the site with this levy systematically display three different values: the price of the product, the value of the private copying levy and the total price. Indication of the private copying fee and information on Aquario's website.
